The Satyr's Head

The inspiration for this one came from the book of the film Pan's Labyrinth. It is beautifully illustrated by Allen Williams, a very talented American artist. There is one illustration of the entrance to the Labyrinth (page 104 I think) and a small horned head is drawn over the arch. I took that for my inspiration.

I am pleased with the result, even if my wife does insist on calling it "The sheep's head". It took a few weeks to get it right and I changed bits of it several times till I was happy. Having cast it, I can't make up my mind whether I like it as just polished bronze or with patina. I have done both and will decide later. Could offer both options I suppose.
